Oceanicasub Vlll and Oceanicasub lX were rebuilt for high-tech ROV vessels. Green Yard Kleven's two retrofit projects for Brazilian company Oceânica were successfully completed, as indicated by the company.

Aiming at the future of naval sustainability, the Norwegian company Green Yard Kleven has two new projects finalized in the domestic market. These are retrofit projects for the owner of offshore vessels Oceânica, with the aim of improving the energy efficiency of the Oceanicasub Vlll and Oceanicasub lX vessels and reducing their carbon emissions. Both initiatives had a great environmental commitment on the part of the Norwegian company.

Green Yard Kleven finalizes two new retrofit projects for offshore vessels from the Brazilian company Oceânica, which requested environmental commitment in its activities

The Norwegian company Green Yard Kleven carried out two major retrofit projects for the Brazilian company Oceânica. This is the reconstruction of the Oceanicasub Vlll and Oceanicasub lX vessels, which went from two supply ships to two advanced ROVs for operations in the Brazilian fields.

Karl Johan Barstad, Retrofit Sales Manager, reinforced the environmental commitment of activities in the projects, at the request of the Brazilian company itself.

“Both reconstruction projects were largely based on reused equipment and focused on sustainability at the request of the shipowner, which is very relevant to our activity. Our experience in newbuilding, retrofitting and ship recycling came in handy in the projects.”

For the reconstruction of offshore vessels, Green Yard Kleven carried out the construction of new mezzanine decks for the operation of ROV vehicles.

Barstad also highlighted that, using their contacts in the global offshore market, they were able to obtain efficient second-hand cranes to be used in the ship designs.

Some important elements of sustainability were considered in the development of retrofit projects for the ships. These are: overhauling and repairing existing equipment, installing used equipment, and reusing recycled ship interiors and furniture.

Another relevant point in the use of second-hand materials in projects is the economic issue. For Green Yard Kleven, there was a great economic gain for the development of activities.

Thus, for the reconstruction of Oceânica ships, not only sustainability was considered, but also the financial benefits.

Norwegian company remains in the spotlight of the shipbuilding market with sustainable projects for Brazilian offshore vessels

Even with the use of second-hand equipment, Green Yard Kleven managed to deliver great results in the retrofit projects of the ships.

The internal infrastructure of offshore vessels has an expanded stand, meeting rooms, gym and office facilities. In this way, it was completely designed to provide comfort and quality.

Rickard K. Gjerde, Sales Director and Senior Naval Architect at designer Marin Teknikk AS, highlighted that using shipyards in Norway for the development of the projects was the best solution for the short construction time.

Business with the Norwegian company was very practical, without many bureaucratic complications, as confirmed by the company.

Green Yard Kleven is known for its sustainable shipbuilding projects, with a track record of successful projects in partnership with companies looking to reduce their carbon emissions. The company has its own technologies for energy efficiency and the construction of more sustainable vessels.

It is also investing in research and development projects to create new technologies and materials that can further improve the sustainability of the marine industry.

With the new retrofit projects for Brazilian offshore vessels, it stands out even more in the international market.
