Grupo Cobra Macaé Resignation

The chaos in the offshore world of Macaé, where many Petrobras operations are concentrated, has been accentuating due to the pandemic caused by Covid-19 and the mass dismissal of workers in the sector is one of the few options that outsourced companies can take at the moment to minimize accounting impacts by stopping maintenance activities.

As with the Elfe Egenharia, forced to dismiss more than 300 workers, now it's time for Grupo Cobra, a maintenance repair company that holds contracts with Petrobras for some units.

The platforms are: Cherne 1 and 2 (PCH1; PCH2), Pampo 1(PPM1), Namorado 1 and 2 (PNA1; PNA2), P-9 and P-12. this was the lot 2 of contracts concluded by Cobra in 2018, with the final price of R$233.999.989,74 after winning a bid from Petrobras.

As described in the subtitle of the article, around 25 workers were fired this week from the onshore base in Macaé, there are internal reports that another 150 who work in offshore operations will also have the same fate, since their contracts are intermittent and there is no forecast for resumed by the Petrobras, not even by health agencies in Brazil.
