Innovation in energy efficiency: Honeywell and NXP join forces using machine learning
In São Paulo, on February 5, 2024, Honeywell and NXP Semiconductors announced a strategic partnership during CES 2024, sealed with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding. This agreement's main objective is to optimize the monitoring and control of energy consumption in commercial buildings, marking a significant advance in sustainable and efficient energy management.
According to data from the International Energy Agency (IEA), the operation of buildings is responsible for around 30% of global energy consumption and 26% of greenhouse gas emissions. With this in mind, the partnership between Honeywell and NXP Semiconductors aims to address these issues by employing advanced technologies such as machine learning algorithm and data analysis to promote more autonomous and effective energy management.
The technology behind the partnership
The strategic collaboration aims to integrate NXP's advanced application processors, which are neural network enabled, with Honeywell's building management systems (BMS). The initial focus will be on the Honeywell Optimizer Suite, which represents a flexible and innovative building automation and control solution, prepared for the sector's future challenges.
