Figure AI announces partnership with US giant to manufacture 100.000 humanoid robots in 4 years, accelerating the commercial and residential robotics revolution
Figure AI has just announced the signing of its second major contract, with a client that is still under wraps but has transformative potential for the industry.
CEO Brett Adcock said the company could ship up to 100.000 humanoid robots in the next four years, putting the company at a global level of relevance in the sector.
The new partner's secret
While details about the new client remain tentative, Adcock said it is one of the largest companies in the United States.

Speculation suggests that this partner could be a large retailer or a technology company with large workforce needs.
The CEO noted that by focusing on a smaller number of large-scale customers, Figure can optimize its resources and improve the delivery of robots at scale, which makes the production cycle more efficient and speeds up the collection of data essential for AI development.
"Our newest client is one of the largest companies in the US. This gives us the potential for high-volume shipping, which will help reduce costs and collect AI data.”, Adcock stated in an update on LinkedIn.
Accelerated progress of Figure AI
Figure has been notable for its rapid progress in creating and launching humanoid robots. Just 31 months after its founding, the company introduced the Figure 01, its first robot model, which operated at 17% of the average walking speed of a human.
Next came the Figure 02, which achieved a speed seven times greater than the previous model, moving at 3,9 feet per second, or approximately 2,68 miles per hour.
Although the speed still doesn't reach the typical human pace, the company remains optimistic about the continued development of new models, with the Figure 03 already in testing in the lab.
The highlight is the use of artificial intelligence, which allows Figure robots to quickly adapt to new tasks.
Adcock emphasized that the end-to-end neural network was a major breakthrough for the company's new client, allowing robots to learn on their own without the need for complicated programming.
"Every instance of these AI-driven policies in action feels like pure magic.”, said the CEO, showing the potential of AI to transform the robotics sector.
Global competition
The humanoid robot industry has attracted major players, such as companies like Agility Robotics, Tesla, Unitree and Apptronik, competing for a space in the emerging market.
Additionally, the Chinese government has demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing humanoid robotics, with companies such as Zhiyuan Robotics (Agibot) and MagicLab investing heavily in developing robots for industrial use.
China, for example, plans to incorporate humanoid robots into its industrial fabric by 2027, which represents a major investment in the sector.
However, Figure AI, with the announcement of its second high-profile customer and the possibility of delivering 100.000 units, may be positioning itself ahead of many competitors, especially in the commercial market.
