The president of the Brazilian Institute of the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Ibama), Rodrigo Agostinho, brought good news for those interested in a career at the agency. In an interview with Brasil em Pauta, on the Federal Government's YouTube channel, Agostinho revealed his optimism regarding the holding of a new Ibama competition at the beginning of 2024, with edict published possibly between April and May, and opening more than 2.400 vacancies.

Recently, the institute received authorization to call 257 surpluses from the last public tender held in 2021.
As vacancies authorized companies comprise 24 administrative analysts, 100 environmental analysts and 133 environmental technicians, distributed by state, region and unit.

President Lula and Minister Esther Dweck also spoke out in favor of the Ibama competition, highlighting the need to strengthen the body's staff.
The authorization request covers 2.408 higher level vacancies, with 1.503 for environmental analysts and 905 for administrative analysts.
When will the Ibama 2023 competition come out?
Although the next Ibama competition is still awaiting official authorization, expectations are high, and President Agostinho confirmed that the selection process is on the agency's radar.
The director of Planning, Administration and Logistics at Ibama, Gustavo Henrique Moreira Alvares da Silva, clarified that calling surpluses from the last competition is the first step, followed by the transformation of vacant positions, subsequently allowing a new competition to be held.
