Young man who won the IEL Award in 2015 is leading the Kraft Heinz Company in Dubai

With the aim of promoting and encouraging the development of interpersonal skills in interns in Brazilian industries, the Euvaldo Lodi Institute (IEL) created the IEL Talent Award, formerly known as IEL Internship Award, whose first edition took place in 2005.

The main objective of this competition is to give visibility to good internship practices carried out by companies, interns, supervisors and educational institutions, aiming to stimulate the internship environment and recognize those who stand out in the job market.

Furthermore, the IEL Award proves to be a relevant opportunity for young interns to improve their skills. soft skills while interacting with other professionals, presenting projects and expanding their networks at the final events of the competition.

It was during the 2015 edition of the Award that production engineer Fernanda Luiza Emediato Fernandes, currently senior business development manager at Kraft Heinz Company, in Dubai, had the opportunity to establish valuable connections that boosted her career.

Taking advantage of the positive influence she received during her period as an intern in Brazil, Fernanda seeks to inspire and empower her co-workers, using her trajectory to encourage other professionals to follow similar paths.

'I maintain the same vision I had at the beginning of my career. In the same way that I had support at that time, I try to encourage them to develop ideas. I see the opportunity to integrate the knowledge from universities to industries, whether in Brazil or abroad', comments the engineer.

From intern at Instituto Euvaldo Lodi to nationally renowned businessman

The IEL National Internship Program works as a facilitating mechanism that connects students to companies. More than 1,5 million students entered internships through this program, including the case of Paulo Palaez, now an entrepreneur and CTO of the company Lovel.dev, who was an intern at IEL-CE in 2017, working in the area of Computer Science.

After graduating, Palaez quickly found a place in the job market. However, amid the pandemic, he decided to found Lovel in partnership with his wife Erika Palaez. The main objective was to establish a Human Resources (HR) business that would simplify the process of hiring technology professionals, in an agile and efficient way.

The idea was an absolute success, culminating in a series of achievements in 2023. In November last year, Lovel was chosen to receive a investment from Google for Startups. Furthermore, the company was selected to be part of the Black Founders Fund, a program aimed at developing black entrepreneurship in Brazil.

Also in 2023, Lovel was recognized as one of the 10 best companies in the HR sector in Brazil and included in the 100 Open Startups 2023 Ranking, which highlights companies with great potential for the Brazilian corporate market.

Lovel's focus on providing a welcoming environment for all employees, especially interns, is one of the reasons for its success. Currently, Paulo also uses the IEL Internship Program to recruit new talents for your company. In his opinion, it is the responsibility of business leaders to open doors for students' professional growth.

'Each intern has a personalized development plan. We invest significant time and resources to ensure your professional growth', explains Palaez. In recent months, he hired three Lovel interns and is already planning to recruit new talents for his team.
