IFPE announces selection process with 4,5 free vacancies throughout the state

The Federal Institute of Pernambuco (IFPE) opened the 2026.1 Admission Process this Monday, offering 4,5 free spots in technical and undergraduate courses. Registration is open until October 27th, exclusively online.

The process is one of the main gateways for those seeking free, quality technical or higher education in Pernambuco.

The opportunities are distributed across 48 courses, spread across 16 IFPE campuses, including Recife, Caruaru, Garanhuns, Paulista, Ipojuca, Vitória de Santo Antão and other municipalities in the state.

Registration fees range from R$10 to R$55, depending on the type of course chosen. Selection will be based on a test or academic performance analysis, depending on the course.

Registration is open until October 27th, on the official IFPE websiteThe process is 100% online and accessible to candidates from all over the state.

The participation fees are:

  • R$10 for integrated technical courses on subsequent agricultural and technical campuses;
  • R$30 for other courses integrated into secondary education;
  • R$55 for undergraduate courses.

Candidates registered with CadÚnico, participants in the Proeja, PROIFPE Acesso, PartiuIF and Mulheres Mil programs, as well as rural people, indigenous people, quilombolas and people aged 50 or over may request a fee exemption.

This measure expands access to public education, ensuring that more people from Pernambuco have real opportunities to free technical and university training.

How will the IFPE selection be?

The selection model changes depending on the modality chosen.

In subsequent technical courses integrated with secondary education on agricultural campuses, classification will be made by analyzing academic records.

For undergraduate programs and those integrated with high school at other campuses, in-person exams will be held on December 7th. Exam locations will be announced on November 26th.

The integrated technical course exams will have 30 multiple-choice questions, covering Portuguese, mathematics and general knowledge.

Undergraduate candidates will face 50 objective questions, divided between Portuguese, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, history, geography and a foreign language, in addition to an essay.

Expanded quotas and opportunities

IFPE reaffirms its commitment to educational inclusion and the democratization of public education. Therefore, 60% of its places are reserved for students from public schools, ensuring fair, broad, and equal access to free education.

In addition, the institute reserves 25% of the places in the general competition for public school students from rural areas, as long as they choose to agricultural vocation courses.

This initiative values ​​rural communities and encourages these students to remain in strategic areas for regional development.

With this quota policy, IFPE promotes social and educational equity, allowing students from different backgrounds to enter an institution nationally recognized for teaching excellence.
