The Instituto Federal do Sul de Minas Gerais (IFSULDEMINAS) is accepting applications for three free online courses in the area of ​​tourism, offering a total of 590 places. The initiative is aimed at residents of Minas Gerais, with the aim of promoting professional training in a sector that is strategic for regional development. The information was released by the Varginha Digital portal on March 25 and confirmed by official notices from the institution.

Applications are open until April 7, 2025, and the selection process will be carried out by electronic draw, allowing equal access to vacancies.

Three courses for professional training in tourism

The courses offered are:

• Sustainable Tourism: Practices for a Responsible Future
  • 40 vacancies
  • It trains professionals to implement sustainable actions in the tourism sector.
• Tourism Policy: Preparation, Management and Implementation
  • 300 vacancies
  • Focuses on structuring public policies for tourism, targeting managers and stakeholders in public administration.
• Applied Spanish for Tourism Services
  • 250 vacancies
  • Develops basic Spanish skills aimed at serving tourists.

According to IFSULDEMINAS, all courses are in the Distance Learning (EAD) modality, with specific workload and schedule that can be consulted in the notices available on the institute's website.

Who can participate and how to register

Courses are open to people with:

• Minimum age: 16 years
• Minimum education level: Completed elementary school
• Residence: Any municipality in Minas Gerais
• Required documentation: valid CPF and identity document

Applications must be submitted exclusively online through the Unified Public Administration System (SUAP) of IFSULDEMINAS. The Varginha Digital portal reinforces that candidates must be aware of the deadlines and correctly follow all the steps indicated in the notices.

Selection will be by electronic draw

To ensure equality, the institute will adopt the selection process by electronic lottery, as provided for in the notices. This means that all applicants will have the same chances of obtaining a place, regardless of the order in which they apply. The date of the lottery will be defined and published after the end of the application period.

The start of classes varies according to the course, but all will have classes formed in the first semester of 2025. The activities will be led by professors from IFSULDEMINAS itself, with the support of digital materials and interaction forums.

Certification valid throughout Brazil

Participants who complete the courses with minimum grades will receive a free certificate of completion, recognized by the Ministry of Education (MEC). According to the institution, this certificate can be an important differentiator on a resume, especially for those who work in the customer service, hotel, travel agencies and events sectors.
