The National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANP) reported a drop in oil production and an increase in natural gas extraction.
In April this year, oil production totaled 2,958 million barrels of oil per day, which represents a drop of 0,5% compared to the previous month (2,973 million bopd), according to the National Petroleum Agency, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP).

On the other hand, the extraction of natural gas rose 2% compared to March, to 124 million cubic meters per day. In all, the country's production was 3,738 million boed.
Petrobras produced 2,163 million bopd in April, down 1,1% compared to March, when the company's oil extraction totaled 2,187 million bopd. The state-owned company extracted 96,1 million m³/d of gas in the period, in line with the March result (95,7 million m³/d).

Crude oil processing at refineries dropped 26% in April, according to the ANP
In all, 40,1 million barrels were processed during the month of April, against 54,3 million in the month of March.
The biggest drop was observed in aviation kerosene production. In the period in question, oil production dropped 82%, totaling just 537 barrels, compared to 2,9 million barrels recorded in the previous month. According to ANAC (National Civil Aviation Agency), demand for domestic flights in April fell 93,1% and for international travel 96,1%.
Regarding the production of gasoline, type A for example, there was a drop of 32% (from 10,8 million to 7,4 million in April).
Studies by Rystad show that demand for land vehicle fuels will experience a 10,8% drop in 2020, totaling 5,1 million barrels per day. However, the demand for aviation kerosene will suffer a decrease of almost 34%.
