In November 2018, Petrobras announced the agreement to sell the three fields, for US$ 370 million (R$ 1,4 billion), with 20% (US$ 74 million) paid at the time.
This Thursday, September 12, the Natural Petroleum Agency (ANP) approved the sale of the Carapeba, Pargo and Vermelho fields, in the Campos Basin, from Petrobras, to Perenco. In July of this year, Perenco announced its plans to revitalize at least 50 wells in the Campos Basin
The deal between Petrobras and Perenco signed in November of last year, was closed in the amount of US$ 370 million, with 20% (US$ 74 million) paid at the time. The remainder will be paid at the closing of the transaction, considering the necessary adjustments.

Companies will have to submit to the ANP an operations transition plan. Carapeba, Pargo and Vermelho make up the Northeast Pole in shallow waters, off the coast of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
When the deal was announced, the concessions together produced around 9 barrels of oil per day.
Of the more than 150 production wells already drilled in the three fields, only 16 produced in April 2019. The number of active wells has been falling since the late 1990s, but they have dropped dramatically from 2016 onwards.
Petrobras, majority controller of the mature fields in Brazil, has focused on its new projects, so much so that we are heading towards another year of records in the pre-salt layer and decline in the Campos Basin.
The state-owned company has already announced the raising of more than US$ 823 million (R$ 3,2 billion) with sales of mature assets.
The state-owned company sold 70% of the Maromba Field to BW Offshore
This Tuesday, September 10, Petrobras completed the sale of its entire 70% stake in the Maromba field, in the Campos Basin, to BW Offshore Production do Brasil Ltda. Earlier this month, the state-owned oil company began selling 11 production fields in the shallow waters of the Campos Basin.
The Maromba field is located in shallow waters, close to the Peregrino and Papa-Terra fields, which are currently in production.
