The electric bus for the steel industry will remain in a testing period for one month at Usiminas.
According to the services manager at the steel company, Victor Cavalcante, new technologies are being used in favor of the company to contribute to the reduction of polluting gas emissions and the insertion of renewable energy. In addition to the work of inserting electric buses into the company's fleet, the viability of other sustainable solutions for conscious, more economical and innovative mobility is also being studied.
Electric bus market grows in Brazil
In addition to BYD, the Chinese manufacturer Higer Bus confirmed in November its plans to start manufacturing vehicles in the country next year, after the regular import phase of the first vehicles in Brazil, which will take place in the first half of this year.
Last year, the company began testing in Brazil. The electric bus model that was used in the tests was the Azure A12BR, and the company chosen was SP Trans, which is responsible for controlling public transport in the city of São Paulo.
Usiminas is focusing on renewable energy
Usiminas is committed to creating a cleaner future in the steel industry and, with that in mind, it became a participant in the UN Global Compact, demonstrating that it is committed to supporting a preventive approach to environmental impasses.
As the steel market leader in the national territory, the company is always looking to create innovative products that contribute technology and quality to the industry, but also contribute to sustainability. A great example of this would be steels aimed at renewable energy solutions and those with high mechanical strength, used mainly by the automotive industry.
