The Municipal Secretariat of Science and Technology (SMCT) is now accepting applications for 3 thousand vacancies in free courses and workshops focused on technology and entrepreneurship, offered by Navezinhas Cariocas. These 25 units, distributed throughout several peripheral regions of Rio de Janeiro, aim to train young people and adults in digital skills and prepare participants for the job market. The free courses cover various technological and digital tools, democratizing knowledge and providing new opportunities for audiences of different profiles.
Navezinhas Cariocas were implemented in areas of high social vulnerability, seeking to promote inclusion and access to modern technologies. Operation and resources of the Navezinhas Cariocas
The 25 Navezinhas Cariocas units operate from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 17 pm, and are equipped with notebooks, audiovisual resources and free internet access to ensure a education of excellence. The spaces also have a support team ready to assist users, promoting a complete and accessible learning experience.
Since the launch of the first unit in March, Navezinhas has already granted 3.758 certificates to students who completed free courses in the areas offered, demonstrating the positive impact of the initiative.
For students like Rafaela Neves, 24, an advertising student, Navezinha Carioca represents a transformative opportunity. She highlights that the audiovisual course was essential for improving her skills in the advertising field, allowing her to create professional videos using just her cell phone.
Rafaela, who studied at the Rio das Pedras unit, won two internships after showing her work in interviews, proving the effectiveness and difference of this practical training adapted to the needs of the current market.
Variety of free courses and workshops offered
The free courses and workshops at Navezinhas Cariocas include a variety of options for different interests, such as Introduction to Excel, Basic Computing, Introduction to ChatGPT, Photography, Robotics, Game Development, Microsoft Word, PC Assembly, Video Production for Social Media and Resume Creation, among others.
This diversity of topics aims to train participants in different technological areas, expanding their opportunities in the job market and allowing them to adapt to new demands.
Neemias Christensen, 18, a graduate in Telecommunications, found the support he needed at Navezinhas Cariocas to help him achieve his goal of a career in IT. A student at the Pedra de Guaratiba campus, Neemias emphasizes the importance of Navezinhas in more remote regions, where the offer of technology courses is limited.
For him, access to these skills makes it possible to achieve the dream of entering a profession in the technology field, something previously seen as distant.
