To adapt to the new economy retracted by the pandemic, Petrogotas added the fight against the coronavirus to its portfolio of services, providing sanitization services on oil platforms. For this, the company reinforced its specialized workforce, hiring 74 new employees, and invested in new equipment and state-of-the-art products.
Coronavirus increases demand for decontamination services
As a result of the current health crisis, the demand for decontamination services on oil platforms has grown exponentially over the last 12 months, corresponding to 80% of the company's total revenue.

João Paulo Gorni, founder and director of Petrogotas de Macaé, closely monitors all operations. According to him, the Oil & Gas sector, especially the offshore segment, understood the relevance of preventing Covid-19.
“I am proud of the work we are doing. In the midst of the crisis, we were able to generate jobs and implement work of enormous importance for the health of workers. We are one of the few organizations certified for this type of service”, says João Paulo.

Currently, Petrogotas provides services to 16 platforms, in addition to a large supermarket chain. Its workers periodically undergo new training and qualification processes.
Thinking about the future, Petrogotas is already preparing for the post-pandemic scenario and has invested in industrial painting and maintenance for the oil and gas industry. “We are not afraid to innovate. The market and the economy as a whole are dynamic, we have to keep up, adapt. And the company has this in its DNA”, says the director.
