The search for the most efficient pickup truck in Brazil has just become even more popular. Inmetro released its latest energy efficiency table, highlighting the most economical model on the market. The Ford Maverick Hybrid, being Ford's first and only hybrid pickup truck available in the country, wins the title of most efficient in Brazil.
Ford Maverick Hybrid does almost 1.000 km?
O National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (Inmetro) released the new table for the Brazilian Vehicle Labeling Program (PBEV). This brought valuable data on aspects of vehicles available on the Brazilian market, including energy efficiency.
Inmetro evaluated 747 car models and versions, from various categories. Among them all, the Ford Maverick Hybrid stood out as the pickup truck with the best energy efficiency, that is, the one that travels the most distance while using less energy.

The consumption measured for it was just 1,44 Megajoule per km. To give you an idea, with this result the Ford pickup surpassed hatchbacks such as the Chevrolet Onix (1,45 Mj/km) and Renault Sandero (1,48 Mj/km).
This title strengthens it as a reference in fuel economy in the segment. Furthermore, it attests to how this technology works to reduce the use of fossil fuels and serves as an alternative and transition point towards electric mobility.
Such efficiency is clearly reflected in low fuel consumption, as well as better autonomy. In this way, the Ford Maverick Hybrid achieves an average of 15,7 km/l of gasoline in the city and 13,6 km/l on the highway, and exceptional autonomy, which exceeds 800 km with just one tank.

Among the cars that consume the most energy, according to Inmetro, are luxury SUVs and super sports cars. The agency evaluates the energy efficiency of models by MJ/km, a measure of how much energy is consumed to move the vehicle for one km. Vehicles with higher energy consumption have lower range per liter of fuel.
A Ferrari Thoroughbred leads as the least economical car, with an average consumption of just 4,8 km/l, being the one that consumes the most on sale in Brazil in 2024, standing out not only for its performance, but also for its high cost.
