WST technology was recently revealed at Detroit Auto Show, gaining prominence as the only hybrid generator system in the world that uses solar and wind energy. The system is efficient to the point of making the energy generated by WST more affordable than traditional sources of electrical energy generation, due to its production without the need for fossil fuels.
The wind and solar energy tower was created by Jim Bardia over several years. His approach to design prioritized strength, redundancy, friction reduction and ease of assembly and maintenance, making it similar to a racing car in its philosophy. An important element is the levitation hub with floating bearing, which increases the efficiency of the vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) and reduces friction.

A wind and solar tower has a self-cleaning solar panel on top, which prevents performance degradation due to dirt, increasing energy production by 28%. The model is modular and flexible, and can be customized to meet different operational demands, with key components stored in plug-and-play replaceable modules for easier maintenance.
Wind and solar energy tower can store energy in 1008 kW battery
The innovative wind and solar tower can simultaneously charge six electric cars and even return surplus energy to the grid or store it in a 1008 kW battery. With the great demand for clean and sustainable energy, the Wind and Solar Energy tower has the potential to play an important role in providing energy in a more efficient and ecological way.
In addition to this wind and solar tower, it was inaugurated in March this year, in the Sertรฃo da Paraรญba, the first hybrid solar and wind power plant authorized by the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel). The complex belongs to the Neoenergia group and is located in the municipality of Santa Luzia.

According to Joรฃo Paulo Rodrigues, director of Institutional and Government Relations at the company, the hybrid wind and solar energy complex is made up of 15 parks with 136 wind turbines and an installed capacity of 471 MW.
The investment for the construction of the project was R$3 billion and, according to him, it will contribute significantly to the security of the electrical sector and the national energy transmission system. According to state governor Joรฃo Azevรชdo, once again Paraรญba takes the lead in the renewable energy sector, with this large and pioneering hybrid clean energy generation complex in the municipality of Santa Luzia.
The governor commented on the environmental and social counterparts, which was the reason for several questions from researchers and sector experts. The project, in addition to its importance for the energy sector and society with the generation of clean energy, also generates a significant economic impact with the creation of thousands of direct and indirect jobs during its construction.
