ANP authorization was granted for the experimental use of pure biodiesel. Amaggi must meet the necessary environmental requirements for the use of biofuel in its fleet of trucks.
The company Amaggi announced last Wednesday, (03/05), that it received authorization from the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) to use pure biodiesel in its fleet of trucks. The experimental use of the biofuel will take place in 300 vehicles, following all the criteria requested by the agency. According to the company, the tests have already started and the increase in the use of the product will happen gradually, with no risk to operations.
ANP releases the experimental use of pure biodiesel by Amaggi, which invests in the implementation of biofuel in its fleet of trucks
The ANP granted authorization to Amaggi to carry out tests with pure biodiesel in its captive fleet, one of the most anticipated projects by the company for this year.
The grain company will be able to use 100% biodiesel (B100) in up to 300 trucks, as long as it meets the current biofuel specifications.

Amaggi stressed that the tests will start on a reduced part of the fleet and the increase will take place gradually, up to the limit authorized by the ANP.
The project to implement the new biofuel foresees a total consumption per truck of up to 5 liters of biodiesel per month, over two years, limited to 36 million liters in the period.
The gradual increase in volume will happen as part of the company's strategy to mitigate possible operational problems during the testing phase.
This ANP authorization coincides with the installation of a biodiesel plant in Lucas do Rio Verde (MT), where the company will be able to produce up to 1 million liters of biofuel per day.
Since 2019, the company has already been developing this initiative, associated with an existing soy crushing plant on site.
Environmental commitment is the main pillar of Amaggi's project to implement biofuel in its fleet of trucks
Amaggi's environmental commitment with the use of pure biodiesel in its captive fleet reflects a conscious and responsible posture in relation to the preservation of the environment.
By replacing part of the fossil diesel with biodiesel, the company reduces the emission of greenhouse gases and reduces the environmental impact caused by the transport of cargo.
In addition, the grain company is concerned about the safety and quality of vehicles and the fuel used.
Another fundamental requirement for the use of pure biodiesel in vehicles is the guarantee of engine integrity.
In this sense, Scania, the manufacturer of the trucks in the Amaggi fleet, made adjustments to the vehicle software and the maintenance interval to allow operation with 100% pure biodiesel.
In addition, the manufacturer has developed its own conversion system, which guarantees the integrity of the engine and the durability of the vehicles.
In this way, engines qualified to operate with diesel B can be converted to use the B100, guaranteeing the safety and efficiency of Amaggi's captive fleet operations.
Scania thus demonstrates its commitment to the sustainability and economic viability of its transport solutions.
Sharing information with the ANP and Ibama also demonstrates Amaggi's commitment to transparency and responsibility in carrying out tests.
The company is committed to complying with all regulatory requirements and standards, contributing to the construction of a more sustainable and conscious cargo transport sector.
Now, Amaggi continues in its testing phase for the use of pure biodiesel in its fleet after approval by the ANP.
