According to data released by the companies, the new clean energy plant, which will be used by Swift and Seara, belongs to Âmbar Energia, of the J&F group

The companies Swift and Seara, belonging to the JBS group in Brazil, are increasing the consumption of clean renewable energy in their operations, starting to acquire part of of clean energy developed by the Ámbar Saltinho Photovoltaic Plant (UFV), in Saltinho, São Paulo, inaugurated last week. Also according to the statement, the venture for the solar power plant belongs to Âmbar Energia, an energy solutions company of the J&F group.

The Saltinho solar power plant is made up of four clean energy plants, totaling 9.408 photovoltaic panels. Together, the plants reach a power of 5.174 kWp, which is equivalent to the energy consumed by 2,8 homes. The clean energy system that will be used by Seara and Swift will prevent the emission of around 12,193 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere, the same as planting 4 new trees per month, JBS said.

“The consumption of clean energy in the Swift and Seara operations is part of JBS's efforts to become Net Zero in 2040, that is, to bring its net emissions to zero and offset residual emissions. Within this logic, Swift aims to reach the mark of 100% of its stores supplied by clean energy by the year 2025”, he said in a note.

As for Seara, obtaining clean energy from plant Solar de Saltinho aims to reduce its Scope 3 emissions by providing clean and renewable energy to its outgrowers.

In addition to Swift and Seara, clean energy produced by the Saltinho plant will be used by other subordinate companies

The clean energy developed by the Saltinho plant will also be consumed by the Swift and Seara integrated companies, in the region of the cities of Amparo and Nuporanga, in the interior of São Paulo. The hope is to bring more sustainability and reduce the facilities' electricity bill by 20%.

The Saltinho renewable clean energy plant was the first inaugurated by Âmbar and had investments of approximately 23 million reais, in the scenario of a solar energy generation plan that started in 2021.
