Kia's electric car has already received more than 6 thousand reservations
The Kia Ray EV is not an absolute debut, as it is derived from the original gasoline version sold since 2011. Despite this, the electric car has been completely redesigned to meet the growing demand for zero-emission vehicles.
Measuring 3,59 meters long and 1,7 meters high, the Kia Ray EV proves to be practical for tight urban environments and also offers versatile interior space. Electric car lovers will be delighted to discover that there are 4-, 2- and even 1-seat versions available.

It is important to highlight that the automaker's strategy has been rewarded, as more than 6 thousand reservations have already been made since August, exceeding the initial target of selling 4 thousand units by the end of this year.
In this way, it is clear that, along with the attractive price, consumers value the adaptability of this innovative car. O Ray EV is a front-wheel drive electric car that has a 50 kW electric motor and a battery 15,4 kWh high-capacity lithium-ion polymer engine, designed for a 10-year life cycle and expertly stowed under the back seat and cabin floor.
Kia Ray EV delivers up to 233 km of autonomy
The electric car's engine is powered by a 35,2 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, which is enough for the engine to deliver up to 86 horsepower and 167 Nm of torque. Furthermore, the vehicle takes just 40 minutes to charge from 10% to 80% of the battery capacity. As for autonomy, Kia's electric car leaves nothing to be desired. Under normal conditions, it delivers a range of 205 km, however, in urban conditions, it can reach 233 km.
These robust numbers, combined with its compact format, energy efficiency and versatility, make the Kia Ray EV a promising vehicle in the growing wave of affordable electric vehicles.
The Kia Ray EV is available in South Korea at a competitive price. There is still no news about launch in other countries. The electric vehicle costs the equivalent of R$ 105 thousand, R$ 15 thousand less than the Chery iCar, the cheapest electric car in Brazil currently (R$ 119.990).
Kia electric car can reach 130 km/h
Although the Ray EV weighs 187 kg more than the gasoline model, the generous torque of the electric motor ensures responsive performance. The electric vehicle's acceleration is faster than that of gasoline models, from 0 to 100 km/h in 15,9 seconds, while the top speed is 130 km/h. Recharging time is six hours using a 220V domestic source and just 25 minutes in quick charge mode.
The Ray EV's automatic transmission provides the driver with a choice of two modes while in 'D' direction. 'E' or Eco mode optimizes and delivers engine torque to achieve minimum battery consumption and maximum autonomy. “B” mode can be selected when driving downhill on highways and mountain roads to maximize braking power.
