What is Libras and why learn it?

Libras is the official language of the deaf community in Brazil, recognized by Law No. 10.436/2002 and regulated by Decree No. 5.626/2005.

It is a visual-spatial language, which uses gestures, facial expressions and body movements for communication.

Unlike spoken Portuguese, Libras has its own grammar and a unique structure, allowing efficient communication between deaf people.

By learning Libras, you directly contribute to social inclusion and help guarantee the rights of deaf people.

Diverse opportunities for inclusion and career development

Learning Libras is not only a way to communicate with a specific group, but also a key to the job market.

Many areas, such as education, health and social assistance, require professionals who know how to communicate with deaf people, which makes this skill increasingly valued.

By enrolling in the IFSP course, you not only acquire a new skill, but also open doors to new professional opportunities and contribute to a more inclusive society.

Selection process and selection criteria

The selection process will be carried out by public drawing, and candidates must meet the specific requirements for each course. IFSP also establishes a waiting list, corresponding to 20% of the vacancies, to increase the chances of inclusion in the event of withdrawals. In addition, the institution guarantees that the offer will be reviewed if at least 70% of the vacancies are not filled.

Free and no-cost training

One of the biggest advantages of the course is that it is completely free, a unique opportunity for those seeking qualification without having to invest in expensive courses.

IFSP, with its commitment to quality public education, makes training in Libras accessible to everyone, regardless of their social class.

In addition, the course is online., which allows for greater flexibility in terms of hours, providing learning adapted to your routine.

Registration open: how to secure your place

Registration for the Basic and Intermediate Libras courses is open until 26 January 2025, and the registration process is very simple: just access the form available in the notice and fill in your details.

There is no need to pay any registration fee, which makes the opportunity even more accessible to everyone.
