Pathfind got in touch with the CPG to address the new PEC for hikers, who must pay the amount of R$ 1 to workers in the sector in order to help with transport costs. According to the logistics software company, this value is unfeasible and will not lessen the crisis left by the inflation of the last two years, which was accentuated with the rise of the Brent oil commodity.

Antonio Wrobleski, chairman of Pathfind's Board of Directors, says that logistics, transport and freight companies will end the year with a drop in revenue after suffering from the loss of 10% inflation in 2022, which was not passed on to the final consumer because of prices. of diesel, which doubled in just two years. According to an article published by CNN, in 2020, the average amount charged per liter on a national scale was BRL 3,63, however, in some cities such as Itajaรญ, Santa Catarina (SC),  is already above R$7. This is the first time in history that diesel, widely used by truck drivers, has higher values โ€‹โ€‹than gasoline, which has already been above R$7 in at least 20 states.

As stated by path find, the current incentives developed by the federal government, such as  ICMS reduction from 25% to 18%, are not being enough to reduce the crisis left by the pandemic. The initial proposal of the Bolsonaro government was to make taxation null and pass on a value from the federal cash to the governors. The president of the republic has already spoken out a few times about the current pricing policies charged by Petrobras, but stated that he cannot intervene because of the policies approved by Temer in 2016.

Payment of R$ 1 to truck drivers reduces the inflation suffered by the logistics and transport sector little or nothing

The payment of R$ 1 for walkers reduces the inflation suffered by the transport sector little or nothing, according to what the software company said. In addition, according to data shared by the National Petroleum and Biofuels Agency (ANP), the ICMS reduction did not exponentially reduce the price of diesel, which doubled in the last two years: the drop, in practice, was only R$ 0,05 . The hardship began in 2021, when the rise in diesel already represented a positive variation of almost 50% compared to 2020.

Only between the months of January and May 2022, the increase has already surpassed at least 28%. Companies focused on the logistics sector are not managing to keep up with this variation and it becomes unfeasible to pass on this final price to the consumer. In other words, they are losing money, since they must withdraw part of the billing amount from their own cash to meet the demands and remain in the market. Antonio Wrobleski claims that fuel price increases have caused chaos in the sector, making it difficult to control.

The expert also claims that the Lack of stocks is also one of the factors that cause prices to become inflated.

Diesel: Price of a barrel of Brent oil may fall with interest rate hikes

According to Your Money, the value of brent oil fell five of the last six recessions faced on a world scale. And, with the new crisis and increase in interest rates by countries such as Brazil and the United States, major world exporters, prices tend to fall within a few weeks, especially in August, as the Selic will be changed to 13,75%. Despite this, the current accumulated values โ€‹โ€‹of the raw barrel is around 55%. Shares of companies responsible for oil exports will be the most impacted by this instability, showing declines after long increases.
