This is a benefit granted by the General Social Security Regime (RGPS), of the National Institute of Social Security (INSS), which allows some people exposed to agents that are harmful to health to retire with less contribution to the INSS.

However, practicing the profession does not guarantee the right. The professional must prove that he or she has been exposed to agents that are harmful to health, such as heat, noise, toxic, physical, chemical or biological substances.
In addition to the exposure in professions that can retire with less INSS time, there is a requirement of 180 months of contribution to the institute and some requirements such as the time of practice of the profession and the minimum age, which varies according to the risk.

At low risk, the requirement is 25 years of experience in the profession + minimum age of 60 years. At medium risk, the requirement is 20 years of experience in the profession + minimum age of 58 years, with professionals with permanent exposure to asbestos and those who work in underground mining away from.
Finally, the high risk is 15 years of contribution to the INSS + minimum age of 55 years, granted only to underground mining workers and those exposed to the combination of physical, chemical or biological agents.
The benefit is aimed at employees, casual workers, individual contributors by professional category up to April 28, 1995 and individual contributors affiliated with a work or production cooperative as of December 13, 2002.

How to apply for the INSS contribution benefit?
Now that you know the professions that can retire with less INSS time, to apply, the worker needs to present documents that prove the exposure, such as Social Security Professional Profile (PPP), provided by employers, based on a technical report on environmental work conditions issued by an occupational physician or occupational safety engineer.
To apply, the worker must access Meu INSS, via computer or via the mobile app, available for iOS and Android, log in with gov.br, click on Novo Pedido on the home screen, then choose the Retirement by Contribution Time option, confirm personal data and click on update, inform the periods in which they worked exposed to agents that are harmful to health, include documents that prove the right to special retirement.
