In the Terminal's implementation phase alone, around 15.360 new jobs are expected, of which 5.360 are direct and 10 are indirect, in addition to almost 3 in the operation phase.

Good news for Macaé, many job vacancies are to come with the delivery of the previous license issued by the State Institute of the Environment (Inea) to the Macaé Port Terminal (Tepor). The license was delivered by the governor of the state of Rio, Wilson Witzel, this Monday, November 11th. Follow the process by clicking here.

After six years, the venture finally received authorization. The project was conceived in 2013, with the purpose of providing an integrated solution to the oil and gas production flow and pre-treatment chain.

In the Terminal's implementation phase alone, around 15.360 new job openings are expected, of which 5.360 are direct and 10 are indirect. In the operational stage, there will be 900 direct jobs and around 2 indirect ones.

Witzel states, “This is one more among other actions we have taken to resume economic growth in the state. This license should have already been issued, there was a judicial imbroglio, a series of problems that could not be happening, but the State Government received the problem in April and in November it had already resolved the issue. Our attitude is for investors to demonstrate a healthy legal environment.”

Some conditions were determined by the State Institute of the Environment, for the release of the license to Tepor, one of them is the allocation of an area for conservation of approximately one thousand hectares.

O Here it also required communication and social interaction programs, professional training and support for artisanal fishing, among other measures, were also established as a requirement.

“The State of Rio de Janeiro assumes a responsible and competitive economic recovery and attentive to the needs of future generations”, said Ana Lúcia Santoro, Secretary of State for the Environment and Sustainability.

According to Lucas Tristão, secretary of Economic Development, Energy and International Relations, the delivery of the previous license to Tepor is the physical representation of the new policy defended by the governor starting this year.

“This was the tireless work of a team interested in generating jobs and income, in unlocking the state from bureaucratic shackles and establishing a more favorable negotiation environment and an attractive regulatory environment for investors in an economy that in recent years has lost around 500 thousand jobs," he said.
