Today, the Norbe VIII drillship, operated by Foresea, a leader in the offshore drilling sector, docked in Guanabara Bay to undergo a maintenance process. The vessel has left its operational position and is heading for important services that will guarantee its efficiency in deep waters, as it is capable of operating in water depths of I tied 3.048 meters.
Later this month, the drilling vessel will be transferred to dry dock in Rio Grande do Sul, where it will undergo additional services. The Norbe VIII drillship is crucial for complex offshore operations and will undergo a rigorous maintenance program to ensure its optimal performance. These procedures are fundamental to the safety and effectiveness of drilling operations., ensuring that the drilling platform is in excellent condition for future projects.
The vessel will proceed to Rio Grande do Sul, where it will continue work in dry dock at the Rio Grande Shipyard. This will be the second time that Foresea will have one of its 240-meter-long drillships completely offshore.

First Complex Operation
The first operation of this size, carried out in a pioneering way in Brazil, took place between June and August 2023, when the ODN I drill ship remained docked out of the water for 66 days. 'Maintaining ships of this size in dry dock is a complex and challenging operation, but, in some cases, it is necessary so that we can continue to meet the highest safety and efficiency standards in the market.
