Macaé is preparing to receive a fertilizer factory, attracting investments of R$5 billion and becoming a strategic hub for the agroindustry.

The city of Macaé is preparing to receive an important fertilizer factory, which promises to transform the city into a strategic hub for the agricultural and industrial sectors. The nitrogen fertilizer factory project (FAFEN) is being made viable through a Technical, Economic and Socio-Environmental Feasibility Study (EVTESA), which confirms that Macaé has the necessary conditions to become a production center in Brazil. The study highlights that, in addition to housing a fertilizer factory, the city has the potential to become one of the main gas-chemical hubs in the country, based on the production of methanol.

The meeting with the mayor and government representatives

The feasibility study is a crucial step in ensuring that the fertilizer plant is implemented in a sustainable and efficient manner.

Macaé already has the infrastructure basic and with the necessary resources for the project, which includes the supply of raw materials and the possibility of serving both the agricultural industry and other industrial activities.

The estimated investment for the construction of the fertilizer factory in Macaé is R$5 billion, an amount that will boost the local economy and attract even more investments to the municipality.

Last Monday (2), the city of Macaé received the final presentation of the feasibility study.

The meeting was attended by Mayor Welberth Rezende, who highlighted the importance of the fertilizer factory for the future of the city.

In addition, representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, such as José Carlos Polidoro, and municipal and state secretaries were present.

Mayor Rezende stated that Macaé is ready to receive the fertilizer factory and participate in a new strategic movement that will strengthen Brazil's agribusiness.

Rodrigo Vianna, Secretary of Economic Development of Macaé, also stated that the fertilizer factory project is one of the most competitive initiatives for the market.

He believes that, in addition to meeting domestic demand, the fertilizer factory in Macaé will become a key point for the production of raw materials for Brazilian agribusiness, opening up new investment and business opportunities in the city.

Environmental feasibility study for the fertilizer factory

The feasibility study carried out by the São Francisco de Assis Foundation is not limited to economic analysis.

The research also assessed environmental conditions and the supply of water resources, essential to ensure the sustainable operation of the fertilizer factory in Macaé.

Carlos Favoreto, president of the Foundation's board, stated that Macaé has the structure and legitimate conditions to expand fertilizer production and consolidate itself as a gas-chemical hub.

He stressed that the factory of fertilizers will not only meet national demand, but will also contribute to the diversification of the industry in the State of Rio de Janeiro.

With the ideal conditions for implementing the project, Macaé is already positioned as a city prepared to receive investments from large companies as well as to generate jobs and strengthen the regional economy.

The feasibility study also considers the sustainability of the project, with a focus on environmental preservation and the efficient use of natural resources, making the installation of the fertilizer factory even more promising.

Attracting international investment to the fertilizer factory

The project of factory of fertilizers in Macaé has already aroused the interest of international companies operating in the fertilizer sector.

The feasibility study and approval of the project by the National Council for Fertilizers and Plant Nutrition (Confert) are key elements in attracting more investment to the city.

According to José Carlos Polidoro, representative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, Macaé was ahead of other cities, presenting a solid and well-founded study to ensure that the fertilizer factory becomes a reality.

The attractiveness of the project is also related to the possibility of Macaé becoming a central point in the fertilizer market and in the gas-chemical sector in Brazil.

The investment in a fertilizer factory in Macaé will not only meet the growing demand for agricultural inputs, but will also have a direct impact on the local economy, generating more jobs and strengthening the industry.
