Aracruz will receive an investment of R$2,7 billion in a multipurpose port terminal, boosting the local economy and infrastructure.
The municipality of Aracruz, in Espírito Santo, is preparing for a major investment in the area of port infrastructure. The Imetame group, led by Etore Selvatici Cavallieri, plans to inaugurate the first phase of a multipurpose port terminal by the end of next year. The project, valued at R$2,7 billion, promises to be a milestone for the region, offering a new alternative for shipping cargo in Brazil, in addition to representing a significant advance for the economy of Espírito Santo.
Investment boosts port infrastructure in Aracruz
O project of the Imetame port terminal, located in Aracruz, is already under construction.
When completed, it will have the capacity to handle containers, general cargo, solid and liquid bulk, such as fuels and crude oil.

This investment will be financed by equity, financing from development banks and the entry of strategic partners into the venture.
The terminal also benefits from tax incentives, as it is located in Sudene's area of operation.
The terminal's location, 85 km from Vitória, offers easy access to federal and state highways, in addition to being connected to Vale's Vitória-Minas railway.
The Espírito Santo government has already launched bids for improvements to the infrastructure for access to the new port terminal in Aracruz, which will be of strategic importance to the state. This investment in infrastructure aims to strengthen logistics and cargo movement in the region.
Port terminal project will be developed in three phases
O project will be developed in three phases. The first phase of the Aracruz port terminal, scheduled for 2025, will include the movement of general cargo, such as steel products and granite blocks.
In 2026, the terminal will begin operating in the container area, with an expected capacity of up to 300 TEUs.
The final phase of the project will be dedicated to the handling of solid and liquid bulk, including fuels and crude oil.
With a draft of up to 16 meters and the possibility of expansion to 23 meters in the maritime area, the terminal will have the capacity to receive large vessels.
This positions it as a viable alternative for ships facing difficulties in other ports in the country, such as the Port of Santos.
The Aracruz terminal will be 200 nautical miles closer to China compared to the Port of Santos, making it an important part of international trade.
Investment transforms Aracruz into a logistics hub
The port terminal of Aracruz could become one of the largest in Brazil, with installations which will include bunker operations for supplying ships and, in the future, the ability to charge electrically powered vessels.
The terminal operations are being developed under a Special Purpose Entity (SPE), with negotiations underway for the entry of new partners, including logistics operators and shipowners.
