1800 jobs in Macaé: Ibama grants the French company EDF a license to build the Norte Fluminense 2 natural gas thermoelectric plant

Many jobs are to come for the construction works of the natural gas thermoelectric plant Norte Fluminense 2. Last Thursday (7/1), Ibama granted the four-year environmental license to the French group Electricité de France (EDF) – owner of UTE Norte Fluminense 1, in operation since 2004. Another good news for the region, the Civil construction work at the Port of Açu, at the Oil Group's modular refinery, is expected to start in July

Expected to take 48 months to complete the construction work, work on the plant will begin as soon as the installation license is issued by Ibama.

EDF estimates that jobs will last around four years, and that the construction site will generate 1.100 jobs during the installation phase, with the potential to reach a peak of 1.800 jobs.
