CBPM celebrates the mining company's investment
The announcement of new investments by the mining company was celebrated by Antonio Carlos Tramm, president of Companhia Bahia de Pesquisa Mineral (CBPM). According to the president, the company has always defended that mining has to verticalize its production and that the State needs to export products with more added value such as titanium. Tramm said that the mining company's decision is a great evolution in mentality and hopes that other companies follow the same path.
Bahia is one of the states that presents the most opportunities for new companies. Proof of this fact is Maracás Vanadium, considered one of the largest mining companies in the state and the only one to manufacture the homonymous substance in Brazil.
Group plans to reach 15,9 thousand tons per year
The mining company's investment plan for the next decade also provides for investments of R$ 1,173 billion in the expansion of vanadium for batteries. The goal is to reach a production of 15.9 thousand tons at the Maracás mine by 2030.
Vanadium is a product that improves the resistance of steel, making possible a more sustainable use of it. In addition, vanadium is also widely used in the aerospace industry.
The Maracás factory is one of the most up-to-date in ore processing in the world. The Vanadium Pentoxide manufactured there has a degree of purity greater than 99%. The percentage of ore recovery is 80%, which is considered the highest on the planet.
