MISC has signed a new long-term charter contract worth US$525,6 million (US$2,16 billion) from Brazilian oil company Petrobras
MISC said its wholly owned subsidiary AET Tanker Holdings Sdn Bhd received the contract to own and operate three tankers Suezmax DP2 of new construction for operations in Brazilian waters by Petrobras and internationally, by all indications the company MISC would also be interested in hiring some Brazilians to join its staff.

"AET is MISC's oil shipping unit and specializes in the global shipping of oil," the group said in a statement to Bursa Malaysia. “These new vessels will be added to the six (four currently under construction) regular size DP2 Suezmax tankers being chartered by Petrobras for operation in the Brazilian Basin,” he added.

MISC shares closed 1,4% or 11 sen higher at RM7.96, valuing the group at RM35.53 billion. There were 6,85 million shares traded. A positive balance compared to the previous year in the same period.
