Mondelez Brasil, manufacturer of famous brands such as Lacta, Oreo, Club Social and Tang, announced an investment of R$ 1 billion to increase its production capacity in Pernambuco and Paraná.
O investment proposes to accelerate growth in Brazil and promote innovation, with emphasis on the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions and the goal of eliminating greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
The amount applied will be 70% higher than the investment made in the last year and is intended mainly for the chocolate and biscuit lines. The expectation is for a 50% increase in the production capacity of the lines of Bis, Sonho de Valsa and Ouro Branco in Vitória de Santo Antão, and of 20% in Curitiba, where the largest chocolate factory of Mondelez Brasil is located.
Liel Miranda, president of the company in the country, highlighted that the expansion has innovation, sustainability and increased production capacity as priorities. Miranda explained that the growth trend includes entry into new categories and sustainable practices, contemplating the strategic look at inorganic and organic growth.

With regard to the generation of new jobs, the project expects to mobilize 180 vacancies by 2025 in Vitória de Santo Antão, however, without establishing a date for the start of hiring.
The strategy Investing with Purpose integrates the local economy incentive program and encourages diversity and inclusion of suppliers, while the Cocoa life promotes, through the improvement of cocoa cultivation, the increase in profitability and productivity of producers and the popularization of innovation and technology in the area of cocoa.
“As a major chocolate producer, we know the importance of responsible socio-economic cultivation. Our commitment is to build a cocoa production in Brazil that it is, first, sustainable and second, that it supplies all the company's cocoa needs in the country”, said Liel Miranda.
