IT market in Brazil expected to grow 14% this year

According to Brazilian Association of Software Companies (Abes), investments in information technology in Brazil this year should grow by 14,3%, despite the election year and inflation. According to Jorge Sukarie Neto, director of the association, Brazil has the potential to represent up to 3% of global investments in IT.

In the last year, Brazil accounted for 1,65% of global investments in IT and grew above the world average of 11%, reaching a value of approximately US$ 46 billion, an increase of 17,4%. Therefore, Brazil is in 10th place in the list of investments in technology by country in the last year.

Until 2014, Brazil was in 7th place in the ranking, but, according to Neto, the expectation is that this year the country may gain at least one position in the ranking, or maybe even two. In relation to Latin America, the country is at the top in the ranking of investments and represents 40% of the US$ 115 billion invested in information technologies in the last year.
