With surprising economic performance and competitive price, the VW T-Cross 1.4 TSI impresses by offering up to 691 km of autonomy and advanced technology, guaranteeing its place among the best SUVs

The Volkswagen T-Cross SUV has stood out as one of the most sought-after models in the compact SUV line. Since its launch in 2019, the VW T-Cross 1.4 TSI has captivated Brazilians with a complete package of technology, safety, and economy. Designed to meet the needs of a demanding family audience, the Volkswagen T-Cross not only attracts those looking for a reliable vehicle, but also those who want robust performance and features typical of higher-category SUVs. Among used cars, the used VW T-Cross 1.4 TSI remains a valued option, providing excellent value for money and impressive autonomy.

The impressive performance of the VW T-Cross 1.4 TSI SUV with 250 TSI engine

In the SUV segment, the VW T-Cross 1.4 TSI stands out for its top-of-the-line version, the Highline, equipped with the 250 TSI engine, a 1.4 turbo flex with 150 hp. This engine is known for its excellent performance, offering torque of 25,5 kgfm at 1.500 rpm, which guarantees an agile response to the driver.

Combined with the six-speed AQ250-6F automatic transmission, the Volkswagen T-Cross achieves a consumption of up to 12,3 km/l in the city and 15 km/l on the highway, providing a range of around 691 km.

Even though it is efficient, the engine does not compromise performance: with just 1.292 kg, the VW T-Cross 1.4 TSI It goes from 0 to 100 km/h in just 9,7 seconds, showing that it is possible to save money without sacrificing performance.

A sophisticated design that combines technology and comfort

The Volkswagen T-Cross SUV stands out visually, especially in the Highline version. This model comes with chrome details, window trims and a unique interior finish, which includes seats covered in synthetic leather. This version has a keyless entry and start button, increasing the level of comfort and practicality for the driver.

Among the optional packages, Tech & Beats stands out, including full-LED headlights, park assist and a Beats sound system with subwoofer, which makes the audio experience much more immersive.

The Sky View sunroof and the Active Info Display digital panel are also features that attract those looking for sophistication in a compact SUV. These features, offered from the Comfortline version onwards, make the VW car even more desirable.

VW T-Cross mid-range and entry-level options: good value for money

For those who want to save a little more, the used Volkswagen T-Cross also has intermediate and entry-level versions, such as the Comfortline and the 200 TSI. The version Comfortline exchanges the 250 TSI engine for the 200 TSI, which has a 1.0 turbo flex three-cylinder engine, with 115/128 hp and torque of 20,4 kgfm between 2.000 and 3.500 rpm.

With this engine, the VW T-Cross does up to 11,7 km/l in the city and 16,9 km/l on the highway, reaching acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 11,2 seconds.

The entry-level 200 TSI version is equipped with six airbags, traction and stability control, hill start assist, fog lights with cornering lights and air vents for the rear seat. These features make the used Volkswagen T-Cross a great choice for those who want a reliable and high-performance SUV at a more affordable price.

Volkswagen Car Problems and Maintenance: What You Need to Know

Despite its performance, Volkswagen cars can present some specific problems. One of the most critical points is related to the cylinder head, where the timing belt and tensioner need to be replaced after 120.000 km or about four and a half years. This procedure, although simple, can cost more than R$2.000.

Another problem affecting the VW T-Cross 1.4 TSI is the water pump, which can fail due to a problem with the gasket. This part should be checked regularly, especially together with the Poly-V belt.

The Volkswagen T-Cross' TSI engines are also known to respond well to electronic remapping, which can increase power. However, this practice can reduce the lifespan of the engine and transmission, and is only recommended for those who understand the risks involved.

The suspension also deserves attention, especially the bushings, stops and tie rods that connect the stabilizer bar to the front suspension trays. At the rear, it is important to check the integrity of the axle. The sunroof, common in the more complete versions, does not usually present infiltration problems, but the system's operation must be checked to avoid noise.

Market Options and Popularity of Used Volkswagen SUV

The used Volkswagen T-Cross has been gaining ground in the pre-owned market, especially due to the value for money it offers.

The six-speed manual transmission version, for example, was offered in the 2020 and 2021 models, allowing acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 10,5 seconds and economy of 13,8 km/l in the city and 17,1 km/l on the highway. This version is a great choice for those who like to change gears and seek a more active driving experience.

The used VW T-Cross 1.4 TSI is an attractive alternative for those looking for an efficient compact SUV with excellent autonomy and high technology. In the used market, the Volkswagen T-Cross stands out for its resale value and the offer of well-equipped models, which makes it a solid option for families and for those who need a spacious and reliable vehicle.

t Cross with this engine for 85000? How absurd, huh!!! I was even going to say that it was AI that wrote this article, but texts written by AI have less absurdities than this title.

I believe the article refers to the 250 TSI year 2019 or 2020!

You can't even find a 19/20 highline for 85k. In my region it's 100k below, quite run/drummed. For 85k you can buy a 1.0 2021 Comfortline.
