National Forum for the Expansion of the Port Logistics Sector

The Minister of Infrastructure, Tarcísio Freitas, will give the opening speech of the event on the 8th of October in Brasília

The Minister of Infrastructure, Tarcísio Freitas, will deliver the opening lecture of the National Forum for Expansion of the Port Logistics Sector – Santos Export, on October 8, at 19:15 pm, at the Hotel Royal Tulip Alvorada, in Brasília. 17th Edition of the National Forum for the Expansion of the Port Logistics Sector – Santos Export, scheduled for October 8th and 9th at the Royal Tulip Alvorada, in Brasília, organized by UNA Marketing de Eventos.

Among the confirmed authorities are Diogo Piloni e Silva, National Secretary of Ports and Waterway Transport of the Ministry of Infrastructure; Mário Povia, General Director of the National Waterway Transport Agency (Antaq); Mario Rodrigues Jr., General Director of the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) and national and international experts on the themes of the debates. Members of the Event Steering Committee, made up of specialists in the port, logistics and multimodality sectors, will participate in all panels. The importance of Agribusiness, Management and Innovation in the Transport sector, Regulation in trade logistics, Intermodality and logistics and The new port models are topics discussed in the two days of the event.

Integrated with the Ministry of Infrastructure, the sector seeks to consolidate its identity, choosing between the model of a private port or a port under public control. The issue involves an urgent review of port legislation, with an efficient regulatory framework.

The recent decisions to implement technical management in ports by Port Authorities that encourage new bids, expanding the participation of the private sector point to a path that requires broad reflection and in-depth studies.

The scenario also requires greater investment for the efficiency of access to ports, in all modes, eliminating the well-known barriers that hinder Brazilian foreign trade so much.

Within these parameters, panels with the participation of federal authorities, directors of public and private entities from all sectors linked to ports, logistics and the economy will allow participants to better understand what is expected for the present and future of the system.
