ANP – National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels participated, last Friday (14/1), in an operation with the Military Policy, in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, to curb irregularities in the LPG market (gas kitchen).

In the community of Tirol, in Jacarepaguá, the ANP found an establishment selling LPG clandestinely (without authorization from the Agency), which was banned. 25 canisters were seized and the owner of the resale was sent to the Taquara police station.
Inspections in the LPG market
The ANP conducts constant inspections of the LPG market throughout the country. In 2021, the Agency received 1.416 complaints directed at cooking gas resellers and carried out 2.108 inspection actions in this segment, in 535 municipalities in all regions of Brazil.

These inspections resulted in 403 infraction notices and 152 interdiction notices at gas dealerships in the year, in addition to the seizure of 4.223 LPG containers, mostly 14 kg cylinders (P13), the type most used by residential consumers.
