The company announced yet another initiative to boost the infrastructure of the electricity grid in Morro de São Paulo. The objective is to add a new underwater power line of more than 4,5 kilometers until the end of the network works, highlights Neoenergia Coelba.

Aiming at expanding energy security in Morro de São Paulo, one of the most important tourist attractions in the state of Bahia, Neoenergia Coelba has a new initiative. The company plans to add a new distribution line to the power grid of the place, with more than 4,5 kilometers. In this way, there will be an infrastructure even more adequate to meet the needs of the tourist spot.

Neoenergia Coelba invests in the infrastructure of the electrical grid in Morro de São Paulo and guarantees more security in the distribution of energy in the Bahian tourist spot

With more than half of the work plan for the underground network completed, Neoenergia Coelba announced yet another initiative for the Morro de São Paulo electrical network.

The place is one of the most visited tourist spots in all of Bahia, attracting tourists from all over the world. Thus, it is essential to ensure good energy security in the distribution of energy on site.

With that in mind, Coelba announced the implementation of another underwater distribution line at the site.

The new line will have 4,5 kilometers of cables from the mainland to Morro, and will be accompanied by the delivery of a new transmission line and a power substation with 12,5 megavoltampere (MVA) of power, which will be installed near Atracadouro Bom Jardim, in the municipality of Valença.

Neoenergia then invests in the energy security of the electricity grid in Morro de São Paulo, which will have one more alternative to meet the demand of more than 4 inhabitants and daily visitors.

The work of improving the infrastructure of the electricity grid in the tourist attraction in Bahia is more than a year advanced and already has the second stage in progress.

At the end of the Neoenergia Coelba works project, there will be more than 1,6 kilometers of network extension, with nine 500 kilovolt-ampere (KVA) transformers.

With this, Morro de São Paulo will no longer have electrical wiring, ensuring not only more energy security, but also more robustness to the landscape.

28 power stations in Morro de São Paulo have already been deactivated as part of the company's underground works plan for the electrical network

So far, Neoenergia Coelba's work plan for the underground power grid at the Bahian tourist spot has deactivated 28 power stations.

In addition, 2022 marked the delivery of major works for the local system, including the new feeder in Maraú, which directly serves the village and the Santo Antônio de Jesus — Valença Transmission Line, with 69 Kilovoltamper (KV).

“Morro de São Paulo is an example of Neoenergia Coelba's efforts to provide modern, sustainable and safe energy”, highlighted Antonio Ciarlini, president of Neoenergia Coelba.

He said that investments in an underground electricity network ensure more energy security and quality of life for residents.

This is still a way to encourage the attraction of tourists in the region, thus moving the economy and providing greater socioeconomic development in Bahia.

Work on the Neoenergia Coelba power grid in Morro de São Paulo should continue at an accelerated pace over the next few months.
