Chevrolet Groove will arrive in Brazil to open up space in the factory and reposition the new Monza medium sedan, a classic loved by Brazilians and leader in sales in the country
Toyota Raize and Honda Elevate are excited about the launch of the new Chevrolet Groove Turbo, also known as mini Tracker, which is about to arrive on the Brazilian market. It will be the bridge between the Chevrolet Onix and the current generation of the Chevrolet Tracker. The Chevrolet Groove is another subcompact SUV that will compete with future launches that are integrating a new positioning in our market. These are subcompact SUVs, a kind of hatchbacks with raised suspension, which are becoming a strong trend here.
Chevrolet Groove competitors tremble!
Just like the Volkswagen Nivus, the Chevrolet Groove will compete with the Hyundai Venue, a future launch from Hyundai, and the Japanese Nissan Magnity. These models will be positioned in the same category, below the compact SUVs of their respective brands. Next, we have the Chevrolet Tracker and the Hyundai Creta, both already established on the market.
Chevrolet Groove is part of Chevrolet's investments to be the favorite of Brazilians
The Chevrolet Groove is part of the investments that Chevrolet plans to make in the Brazilian market. These investments began with the new generation of Onix and Tracker, which are very successful. The Groove, which is already sold in other markets under this name, is a type of subcompact SUV. It will be a great option for daily use, offering elevated suspension, greater ride comfort and ease of parking in tight spaces.

Mini Tracker Chevrolet will be entitled to a sunroof and more sophisticated safety equipment
The new mini Tracker will be offered in two versions: LT and Premier. The second will have a sunroof and more sophisticated safety equipment, something that is not common in compact hatchbacks here in Brazil. The dimensions of the Groove are 4,22 meters long, 1,74 meters wide, 1,62 meters high and a good wheelbase of 2,55 meters, which should provide good internal space. The trunk capacity has not yet been announced, but something around 300 liters is expected, which is the average capacity for this category of subcompacts.
New Chevrolet SUV for R$60 in Brazil? Grove is much cheaper than competitors!
Apparently, the Groove will be equipped with a 1.0 Turbo engine, the same one that already equips the Chevrolet Tracker in the LT and Premier versions. There is the possibility that an option with a 1.2 Turbo engine will also be offered, but with reduced power. If prices are converted to our current reality, they would be between 60 and 95 thousand reais.
The automotive market is increasingly focused on SUVs
The automotive market is increasingly focused on SUVs, and some automakers are removing traditional models from the line to make room for these new launches. An example of this is the Volkswagen Golf, which gave way to the Volkswagen T-Cross.
The Chevrolet Groove will also arrive to make room in the factory and possibly reposition a new midsize sedan, which would be the new Chevy Monza. This new generation of Monza, which is already sold in China, would be a sedan slightly above the Onix, to compete with more expensive versions of the Volkswagen Virtus and other models.
It's time to buy: Subcompact SUV prices are getting higher and higher!
It is interesting to observe how the SUV prices Subcompacts are getting taller and taller. These models are, in fact, hatchbacks with raised suspension and interior space designed to resemble SUVs. This marketing strategy has proven to be very efficient in Brazil, where people have a great preference for this type of car. However, car enthusiasts, who are more traditionalists, still prefer midsize hatchbacks or midsize sedans with sportier configurations.
If we consider that these models will start to arrive on the Brazilian market in a year or a year and a half, it is very likely that compact hatchbacks will become even more expensive. With the arrival of the Hyundai Venue, Nissan Magnity and the Chevrolet Groove itself, it is quite possible that these models will cost more than 100 thousand reais.
