The South Gas Terminal already has a contract signed with TBG (Brazilian Carrier Bolivia-Brazil Gas Pipeline) for the supply of natural gas, enabling its use as a supply option for the demand of thermoelectric plants in the South, Southeast and Center-West regions. O South Gas Terminal connects to a region that faces natural gas supply restrictions and has more than 3,5 GW of existing plants that lack firm gas supplies or long-term contracts (PPAs). A Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU) Winter, 277 meters long, is the gas processing unit responsible for operating in the TGS.
FSRU Winter has the capacity to store 138 thousand m³ of LNG, equivalent to 83 million m³ of natural gas, and regasify up to 15 million m³ per day. The vessel, sub-chartered from Petrobras, has 35 crew members from six different countries on board. From September 2024, the charter will be made directly from ENERGOS, shipowner and owner of the FSRU.
