Yinson Production held a naming ceremony for an FPSO at Dubai Drydocks World that will operate in the Enauta field, off the coast of Brazil.

Yinson Production, a subsidiary of Kuala Lumpur-based energy technology and infrastructure company Yinson Holdings, held a naming ceremony at Dubai Drydocks World in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, for an FPSO production, storage and offloading vessel, destined to work in the Enauta field, on the coast of Brazil. Yinson Production officially named the FPSO Atlanta during a naming ceremony held at Dubai Drydocks World in Dubai on December 13, 2023. This floating production vessel will operate in the Atlanta field in the Santos Basin offshore Brazil for Enauta under a 15-year lease and operation agreement, plus an optional five-year agreement, with a total value of up to US$2 billion. This comes less than two weeks after the Malaysian FPSO player hosted dignitaries from Brazil who came to visit the production vessel.

Commenting on the naming ceremony, Grønnegaard highlighted: 'We have achieved steady progress on the FPSO Atlanta project driven by our strong adherence to our project execution philosophy, the dedicated and experienced team, and the unwavering support of our client and stakeholders. We appreciate the trust that Enauta placed in us by awarding the project to Yinson Production, and we remain committed to improving access to stable and affordable energy in the South American region.'

The presence of important figures at the naming ceremony

The naming ceremony was attended by FPSO Atlanta Site Manager and Lady Sponsor, Maria Eduarda Pessoa, and witnessed by Yinson's Executive Director of Production, Flemming Grønnegaard; CEO of Enauta Energia, Décio Oddone; Yinson's production project manager for FPSO Atlanta, Scott Bendiksen; and the CEO of Drydocks World, Captain Rado Antolovic, together with members of the board of directors and senior management of Yinson Production and Enauta.

Rado Antolovic describes plans for FPSO Atlanta

'We are proud of our ongoing RLEC (repair, life extension and conversion) work for the newly named FPSO Atlanta. In conclusion, we are confident in the longevity of the FPSO Atlanta offshore Brazil without dry docking. The naming ceremony is another milestone in this project which has a broad scope for Drydocks World, including the fabrication and installation of 3.000 tonnes of structure', Antolovic elaborated.

Details about FPSO Atlanta’s capacity and sustainability

With production capacity of 50.000 bopd and a maximum storage capacity of 1.251.000 barrels, the FPSO Atlanta will feature an efficient carbon management process plant, which uses fuel gas to inertize cargo tanks. This is expected to significantly reduce flue gas emissions through a closed combustion system and represents a part of Yinson Production's ongoing sustainability efforts in reducing carbon emissions while establishing itself as a pioneer in decarbonization of the FPSO industry towards the goal of net zero emissions.

Scott Bendiksen Highlights Commitment to Highest Safety Standards

Bendiksen stressed: 'We are proud to have maintained zero downtime incidents after nearly 7 million man hours for FPSO Atlanta. We remain committed to the highest SMS standards and will ensure the project's progress is on track, bringing forward its departure to Brazil. The collaboration with Enauta has been a fruitful endeavor, further solidifying Yinson Production's strong presence in the region.'

Contract between Enauta and Yinson for the conversion of FPSO Atlanta

Enauta signed a contract with Yinson for the conversion of the existing production unit – acquired in February 2022 – so that the FPSO could be used for Atlanta Field Complete Development System (FDS). under the same terms specified in letter of intent (LoI) December 2021. When July 2023 arrived, Yinson exercised its option to purchase the FPSO Atlanta through the purchase of all shares in AFPS, owner of the ship.

Ongoing projects and FPSO recertification

According to the FPSO owner, the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of this FPSO is progressing steadily. Upon completion, the asset will be the second of three FPSO vessels that Yinson Production will deploy in Brazil.

Complete development of the Atlanta field by Enauta Energia

Oddone described: 'Atlanta Phase 1 is progressing quickly to achieve first oil in 2024. The FPSO retrofit is an important milestone for Enauta. To achieve this objective, we have already carried out several activities. The Full Field Development System positions Enauta as a pioneer among independents in the execution of a deepwater project.

'The FPSO Atlanta has many engineering solutions and innovations to reduce emissions intensity. The project demonstrates how the oil and gas industry can act positively within its operational limits, with responsibility, safety and efficiency.'

Details about the Atlanta field and FPSO operation

The Atlanta field has been producing since 2018 through an Early Production System (EPS), which encompasses three wells connected to the FPSO Petrojarl I. After recent recertification, this FPSO must continue operating in the field until the entry of the FDS in 2024 with six wells, reaching ten wells in 2029.

Located in block BS-4, in Santos Basin, at 1.500 meters deep, the atlanta field is operated by Enauta Energia, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company, which also holds 100% of participation in this resource.
