New JAC pickup arrives in 2025 to put the market giants “in your pocket”. Information revealed shows that the JAC Hunter will have a load capacity bigger than Hilux, Ranger and S10.
The mid-size pickup truck market is expanding in Brazil, and Chinese manufacturers do not want to be left out of this trend. After the launch of Fiat Titano and the renewed Chevrolet S10, one of the most anticipated is the new JAC pickup truck. Recently, some leaked information indicates that the JAC Hunter promises to stand out with the highest load capacity in the segment, as reported by the media.

Currently, the position with the highest load capacity in the segment belongs to volkswagen amarok with 1.156 kg. According to information from dealerships, the new JAC pickup truck will have around 1.500 kg load capacity. In this way, it will be the largest, by far, in the medium pickup truck category.
To give you an idea, a RAM 3500, which belongs to the large pickup truck segment, has a load capacity of 1.687 kg – and is the only one that surpasses the JAC Hunter. With this load capacity, the new JAC pickup truck may have a problem with Brazilian legislation.

With almost 1.500 kg of load capacity, the pickup cannot exceed 2.000 kg in running order. The reason is that pickup trucks with a Gross Total Weight (PBT), which is the sum of the load capacity and the vehicle's curb weight, above 3.500 kg cannot be driven by drivers with a category B driving license. the driver will have to be category C. Therefore, the Hunter would lose a considerable share of the market.

The brand is taking due care to ensure that its weight is below two tons and that it is not necessary to use a type C driver's license to drive the model. The most recent rival launched to compete with the Hunter pickup is the BYD Shark.
In addition to the Chinese model, the well-known Chevrolet S10, Ford Ranger and the market leader Toyota Hilux are added. All dimensions of the new JAC pickup truck are advantageous, measuring 5.620 mm in length, 3.400 mm in wheelbase, 1.965 mm in width and 1.920 mm in height. These measurements correspond to the medium pickup truck segment.
The new Chinese pickup truck will arrive with a double cabin and a look characteristic of the segment. The JAC logo will occupy a large part of the front grille, as is the case on JAC models. Ford. In the battery-powered variant, the pickup should arrive with an electric motor that delivers 204 hp of power and 30,1 kgfm of torque. Unlike the combustion version, the traction of the electric pickup it will be 4×2 rear.
This set is the same as the iEV330P, but must have a battery capacity increased from 65,3 kWh to 77 kWh, with the aim of expanding the current autonomy, which is 226 km (in the Inmetro cycle).
