Registration with INPI sparks rumors about the return of the Fiat Doblò to Brazil. The iconic model, known for its practicality, could return in a new generation, sharing a platform with the Citroën Berlingo and Peugeot Partner.
Behind a simple registration at the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI), a question has aroused the curiosity of utility vehicle enthusiasts in Brazil: is the Fiat Doblò about to make its triumphant return?
This model, which has gained popularity due to its practicality, despite its controversial design, could gain a new generation in Brazil. And expectations are only growing.
According to information obtained from INPI, the Fiat Doblò has had its new generation registered in Brazil, but it is not alone.
- In the R$13.000 range, Renault has a model with a 1.6 16V engine and 106 hp of power with an average consumption of 13 km/l!
- Goodbye Toyota Yaris Cross? New Chery iCAR 03 SUV does more than 30 km per liter and hits the automotive market in the range of R$ 130 thousand
- Volkswagen Passat 2018: The luxury and sporty sedan that offers more for less than a Virtus
- Ford Territory Titanium 2025: Now with surprising changes, approved performance and impressive consumption!
Under the tutelage of the Stellantis group, two other models also appear in the registry: the Citroën Berlingo and the Peugeot Partner.
They all share the same platform and feature subtle design differences to reflect each brand's identity.
The patents include both passenger and van versions, expanding the range of possibilities.
The Stellantis tradition: cross-platform and utility
This “different twins” strategy is nothing new in Brazil. Stellantis already uses platform sharing in other segments.
In the medium van market, the Fiat Scudo, Citroën Jumpy and Peugeot Expert models share essential characteristics, while Fiat Ducato, Peugeot Boxer and Citroën Jumper lead the large utility vehicle segment.
In the entry-level niche, the Fiat Fiorino and the Peugeot Partner Rapid follow the same logic.
If the new generation of Doblò arrives in Brazil, it will expand Stellantis' presence in a market that has already consolidated itself with this formula.
However, There is no guarantee that the model will be sold here, as patents are often registered only to prevent copying and protect design rights.
The details of the new generation Doblò
In Europe, the Fiat Doblò has attributes that can attract both consumers and companies.
Measuring 4,40 meters long, 2,10 meters wide and 1,81 meters high, the utility vehicle offers a wheelbase of 2,75 meters and an impressive load capacity, reaching 1.005 kg, depending on the version.
Additionally, the internal space allows for up to 3.000 liters of storage, making it a versatile option for a variety of purposes.
The range of engines available in Europe includes electric and combustion options. The electric versions offer a range of up to 330 km (European standard), a top speed of 135 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 11,2 seconds.
Combustion engines include 1.2 petrol options with 110 hp, as well as 1.5 diesel engines with powers of 100 hp and 130 hp, the latter combined with an automatic transmission.
Competition and price
If it comes to Brazil, the Fiat Doblò will have to face competitors such as the Renault Kangoo, which currently costs from R$ 122.400.
To stand out, Doblò will need to offer differentials that justify its presence in a competitive market.
The utility segment, although lean, has strong appeal among companies and professionals who need space and practicality.
Fiat Doblò: a history of success in Brazil
Launched in 2001, the Fiat Doblò remained in production for 20 years, gaining a loyal consumer base.
Its longevity in the market was due to its functionality and robustness, characteristics that compensated for its polarizing appearance.
In 2021, Stellantis discontinued the model in Brazil, ending a story that marked the compact utility vehicle segment in the country.
Now, the possible return of the Doblò rekindles the interest of those who have always valued its interior space and versatility.
However, until there is an official announcement from Stellantis, anticipation remains the main fuel for this story.
Will the Fiat Doblò return to Brazil?
Despite the recent registration with INPI, Stellantis has not yet confirmed plans to launch the new generation of the Fiat Doblò in the Brazilian market.
Meanwhile, enthusiasts of the model continue to anxiously await an answer. Will this iconic utility vehicle return to the streets of Brazil in full force, bringing modernity and cutting-edge technology?
What do you think? Would the return of the Doblò be a success or a challenge in today’s market? Leave your opinion in the comments!
It will be a great success in Brazil I had a Doblo and it was an excellent car
It needs to come back. That gap in the output has not yet been filled and I hope it comes back with at least a 100% electric version and preferably with the robustness of the Adventure version, which is by far the best version for work in terms of durability, much more so than the cargo version.
I loved it, my husband had it, but it must be a 1.8 16v, we traveled for work, it is the best and Fiat is the best
