The new law was approved by Councilman Anderson Sales and the objective is to replace all traffic lights in the city with those that use solar energy as a source of energy.

The City Council of Goiânia took a significant step towards urban sustainability, definitively approving the mandatory installation of solar-powered traffic lights throughout the capital. The initiative, proposed by councilor Anderson Sales Bokão (Solidarity), aims not only to save resources, but also to contribute to the reduction of carbon emissions and promote a more ecological and efficient urban environment.

Approved by the City Council, Councilman Bokão's proposal requires the city hall to draw up a schedule for the gradual replacement of traditional traffic lights by powered units by solar energy.
