Among the various electric vehicles from china that are preparing to enter the European market, one of them is currently gaining prominence. This is the Jiayuan Komi, a 3-meter urban-focused, ultra-compact “popular electric car” that can carry up to four passengers.

Made in China, the cheap electric car is being officially shown at the hall of munich (IAA 2023) as it plans to gain a good position in the main European markets. The vehicle's debut is scheduled to take place in October, with prices reduced to a minimum.

In fact, they start at 10 thousand euros, which is a very low value in the automotive sector, even for Europeans. Unlike the Citroen Ami, Fiat Topolino or XEV YoYo, the small Chinese two-door electric car is a really cheap electric car and can reach up to 100 km/h.

Measuring 3 meters long, 1,52 meters wide and 1,56 meters high, the vehicle has a wheelbase of approximately 2 meters and claims to have a suspension layout that is nothing short of refined, with a MacPherson strut layout. at the front and a multilink at the rear.

Fully electric, the vehicle from China is available in two battery sizes. The consumer can opt for a 17 kWh battery, which guarantees 160 km of autonomy (NEDC), or a 35 kWh battery, which reaches 320 km. Both power an engine with 46 horsepower and 11,2 kgfm of torque. The Jiayuan Komi recharges in around 7 hours, however, the manufacturer does not inform the maximum recharging power in AC or DC.

The higher price in China offers buyers a very pleasant cabin, with features such as a multifunctional steering wheel, rotary gear selector on the center console, digital instrument panel, glossy upholstery and finishes, as well as ambient lighting.

Its infotainment system with a seven-inch touchscreen also offers CarLife, which is the alternative of Baidu to Apple CarPlay.

Available equipment for China's cheap electric car includes two airbags, reversing sensors, reversing camera, keyless entry and start, manual air conditioning, heated side mirrors, ESC, hill start assist, electronic parking brake, pressure tire monitoring system, halogen design headlights, cruise control and LED taillights.

Brazilian electric market gains new models

A BYD, an automaker from China, is bringing several new features to the national market, generating a big drop in prices. The multinational already has several models for sale in Brazil and is already working on the launch of its cheap electric car Seagull here, which should happen in the first half of 2024.

The subcompact is a novelty even for the Chinese market and will arrive in Brazil costing less than the Dolphin, listed at R$150.

The estimate is that this is the cheapest electric car in the country, costing around R$110 to R$130, below its rivals Caoa Chery iCar and JAC E-JS1.

In China, the version of the model with a larger battery runs up to 405 km taking into account the Asian giant's cycle, with a maximum speed of 130 km/h. In Brazil, this autonomy, within the cycle established by Inmetro, should be around 350 km, however, it is just an estimate.
