With more than R$650 million in cash for investment in the expansion of its factory in the state of São Paulo, Novelis will increase its production capacity and job creation
On the 12th of this month of November, Novelis announced to the press offices its new expansion investment in its factory in the city of Pindamonhangaba, São Paulo, in the approximate order of R$ 650 million. It is worth mentioning that Novelis is one of the largest companies in the sector of beverage cans and other specialties, which will maximize the current production of 100 thousand tons per year of plates to 680 thousand. For recycling systems, this jump will be from the current 60 thousand to 450 thousand tons/year.
Additionally, the project will include a new system to capture water, after the companies managed to obtain an area equivalent to 380 thousand square meters, which will facilitate future installations and powers.

Steve Fischer, Global CEO of Novelis Inc said in an interview: “The investment to increase production and recycling capacity reinforces our commitment to South America and to customers in the region”, he says. Beginning of Works
Novelis informed that the works will begin in February 2019 with an expected period of 2 years or until 2021. The production capacity of plates, lamination, recycling and other optimizations will be increased, around 50 new jobs will be generated (Check out some open jobs here).
