The startup eAgro, from Ribeirão Preto, was the company chosen by Ocyan to develop a pilot project for the Cooperativa de Produtores Rurais de Presidente Tancredo Neves (Coopatan – Odebrecht Foundation), in southern Bahia.
The startup competed with two others and came out as the best evaluated by Innosciense, a consultancy that supports Ocyan oil and gas in its relationship with Brazil's innovation ecosystem. eAgro has until December this year to deliver the project, which is scheduled to be completed in 2020.

The proposal's challenge is to improve cooperative members' production management and optimize the tracking of Coopatan – Odebrecht Foundation products. “This is a collaborative way of generating value for both institutions and mainly contributing directly to increasing efficiency, awakening the innovative spirit for the Cooperative”, says Roberto Bischoff, president of Ocyan. “Ocyan Waves is already reaping important results for technical and operational challenges in our company and I am convinced that it will also be a success in the third sector, by bringing more technology to the challenges faced by young people in the countryside, optimizing processes, reducing costs and attracting new partners” , he adds, followed by Fabio Wanderley, Superintendent of the Foundation.
“The partnership with Ocyan was extremely important for bringing innovation to our Social Program, the PDCIS”, he said.
The startup was chosen virtually, through a “Pitch Day”, held with the support of Innosciense. “It was the first time I was present at a Pitch Day. We could see very innovative ideas and young talent seeking to meet our challenges. This is a very interesting methodology that allows us to observe different solutions to the same problem,” points out Louise Franco, responsible for Sustainability at the Odebrecht Foundation.
Juscelino Macedo, president of the Cooperative, explains that the institution's objective is to bring technology to the countryside in an accessible way. “Our associates are on their rural properties and often don't have easy access to the internet. We want a system that can manage production offline and that is at hand. The Pitch Day was very enriching and we selected the startup that best adapted to our work philosophy”, he adds.
