Petrobras' exploration campaign in the Santos Basin has yielded good results for the oil company in recent years. Now, it has started another drilling in the area's pre-salt layer, in a well located in the Aram Block.
Aiming at expanding its production capacity in the Santos Basin region, Petrobras has another drilling in progress in the area. This is well 3-BRSA-1387D-SPS, located in the pre-salt area of the Aram Block. The company has already been carrying out exploratory activities in the block a few months ago, and is now preparing to intensify the campaign with new drilling in progress.
Well 3-BRSA-1387D-SPS is being drilled by Petrobras in the pre-salt layer of the Aram Block in a water depth of 1.977 meters, according to the ANP
Recently, Petrobras made further progress in its exploration program in the Santos Basin when it began drilling a well (3-BRSA-1387D-SPS) in the pre-salt layer of the Aram block.
According to the National Petroleum Agency (ANP), the well is being drilled in a water depth of 1.977 meters. This is yet another bet by the oil company to explore the region's pre-salt layer, targeting the future opportunities.

The Aram block is a partnership between Petrobras (80%) and the Chinese CNODC (20%), which purchased the area during the 6th Sharing Round in 2019, disbursing BRL 5,050 billion in signature bonuses and offering 29,96 % of oil surplus for the Union.
This is an area that is in the company's sights to become one of the future major fuel production regions for the oil company.
In November 2022, Petrobras concluded the formation test in the pioneer well (1-BRSA-1381-SPS) of Aram, in the Curaçao discovery, evaluating a thick interval of pre-salt carbonate reservoirs and verifying the discovery's productivity by dynamic production data.
During the test, oil samples were collected that will be sent for laboratory analysis in order to determine their characteristics and properties.
The formation test, which took place approximately six months after completion of drilling wildcard well 1-BRSA-1381-SPS in January 2022, complemented the assessment of this well based on logs.
These results will be fundamental to better understand the characteristics of the reservoir and its potential productivity. Petrobras will continue to monitor the Aram area in order to optimize production and maximize the results of its operations in the region.
State has invested heavily in the exploration of the Santos Basin in recent years. New drilling of the well in the Aram Block reinforces the company's commitment
The drilling of well 3-BRSA-1387D-SPS represents an important step in Petrobras' growth strategy in the Santos Basin, as well as in the increased production of oil and natural gas.
The company has invested heavily in pre-salt exploration, which is considered one of the largest oil reserves in the world.
The Aram Block well is located in the Santos sedimentary basin, one of the most important in Brazil, and is expected to bring good results in terms of discoveries of new reserves.
The state-owned company has been a pioneer in pre-salt exploration in the region and, since then, has achieved excellent results in its production.
Now, Petrobras will continue monitoring activities in the pre-salt area of the Aram Block after drilling the new well.
