In February 2024, Brent oil fell 3,6%, impacting existing contracts and transportation costs.
Petrobras announced that starting this Thursday (1st) there will be an average drop of 2% in natural gas sales prices, in accordance with the contracts established by the company with distributors. This reduction was communicated through an official company statement.
Furthermore, in January 2024, several new agreements came into force arising from the most recent portfolio of Petrobras products, and from the distributors' competitive processes', highlighted Petrobras.
The portfolio provided the opportunity for contracts to be signed for different terms (5 years, 7 years, 9 years and 11 years) and for distributors to choose whether or not to include the outbound transport in contracts, recalled the company.

Reduction in the Price of Natural Gas
Petrobras customers with agreed contracts in 2023 they saw an accumulated reduction of 22,2% in the value of natural gas throughout the year, stated Petrobras.
The final price of natural gas to the consumer is not only determined by the company's selling price of the molecule, but also by the shipping cost to the distributor, due to each distributor's supply portfolio, as well as their margins and federal and state taxes.
