About Route 3
The scope of the project provides for the flow of natural gas extracted from the Santos Basin pre-salt to Comperj (Rio de Janeiro Petrochemical Complex).
Not only the gas pipelines, which should have a maximum length of around 355 km, but the project also has a UPGN (Natural Gas Processing Unit), designed to process up to 21 million m³ every day. According to Petrobras and experts, these works should be completed in 2021.
Petrobras will define Comperj's future in September
A technical study should be ready by the end of September and will tell Petrobras whether it is worth letting the Chinese build the Comperj, which is currently only underway for the works on the UPGN, which will feed a thermoelectric plant. Learn more here.
