The tender opened by Petrobras aims to expand the S-10 diesel production capacity at the Henrique Lage refinery (REVAP), located in São José dos Campos (SP)
Petrobras started a tender to hire Revamp services (renovation) at the Henrique Lage Refinery (REVAP), located in São José dos Campos (SP), with the aim of expanding the refinery's S-10 diesel production capacity. With a total of 31 companies pre-qualified for the competition, including some traditional engineering companies, Petrobras' bidding competition promises to move the market in the coming months, according to the website Petronotícias.
The list of Petrobras refinery activities ranges from the elaboration of the executive project to commissioning and assisted operation for the project. Among the 31 pre-qualified companies are names such as Saipem, Hyundai Engineering, Andrade Gutierrez, UTC Engenharia and others. The opening of the envelopes with the bidders' proposals by Petrobras is scheduled for October 23rd.
Expansion of S-10 Diesel Production
The objective of the work on the U-272D is to adapt the unit to produce diesel oil with 10 ppm of sulfur, known as S-10 diesel, maintaining the design capacity and increasing the fuel supply. The forecast is that the supply capacity will go from the current 44 barrels per day to 85 barrels per day after the completion of the works. The S-10 diesel produced at REVAP mainly supplies the Vale do Paraíba region, in addition to being sent to other poles in the country from Replan, in Campinas.

Petrobras announced an investment of BRL 260 million to enable the expansion of S-10 diesel production at REVAP. The expectation is that the adaptation works at the unit will be completed by the second half of 2025. With the expansion, the refinery will have two S-10 diesel production units, ensuring a more robust supply of this important fuel.
Petrobras' bid
The tender for the expansion of S-10 diesel production at the Henrique Lage Refinery is an opportunity for engineering companies to show their competence and win a strategic contract with Petrobras. With 31 pre-qualified companies, the dispute promises to be fierce, bringing benefits to the market and to the S-10 diesel production sector in the country.
With an investment of BRL 260 million, Petrobras aims to double its fuel supply capacity, ensuring a more stable and efficient supply for the Vale do Paraíba region and other poles from Brazil. The works are expected to be completed by 2025, boosting sustainable diesel production at the refinery.
