Like P-68, platforms P-70, P-74, P-75, P-76 and P-77 reach oil production above capacity and have been important for Petrobras' performance in 2022 .
The year 2022 is going from 'wind in sail' for the Brazilian oil giant, Petrobras! The oil company maintains a solid operational performance and reaches an average production of 2,64 million barrels of oil equivalent per day, selling 700,7 thousand tons of asphalt in the domestic market. In addition, the state-owned company celebrates the high level of diesel, gasoline and QAV in its refineries.
In the 3rd quarter of 2022, Petrobras maintained an average Petrobras oil, NGL and natural gas production of 2,64 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (MMboed), in line with 2Q22. The total production operated by the company reached 3,65 MMboed in the period, 2,6% above the 2nd quarter of 2022. The total utilization factor (FUT) of the refining park was 88% in the 3rd quarter, the same level of the results of the previous period. The data are highlights of the Production and Sales Report, released on Monday (24/10) by the state-owned company.
Petroleira reported in the report that the company's average oil, NGL and natural gas production reached 2,64 MMboed, in line with 2Q22. According to the state-owned company, maintaining this level is positive, given that the results for the 3rd quarter of 2022 already include the impacts of reduced production from the stop for decommissioning and demobilization of FPSO Capixaba and the effectiveness of the Production Sharing Contracts for the Surplus Volumes of the Assignment of Rights of Atapu and Sepia.
Pre-salt oil represents 73% of Petrobras' total production in the 3rd quarter of 2022
“The impact of these events, already predicted, was positively offset by the good performance of the P-68 and the increase in production (ramp up) of the FPSO Guanabara. The P-68, which operates in the Berbigão and Sururu fields (Santos Basin), reached full production capacity on June 21, which allowed the unit to reach its highest average production this quarter, of 148 thousand barrels of oil per day (bpd), confirming the good performance of the wells and the platform. In addition, on October 8, the platform reached a daily production record of 161 barrels, above nominal capacity due to the optimizations achieved in the production plant.”, Petrobras said in the statement.

It is worth pointing out that just like the P-68, the P-70 units, in Campo de Atapu, and units P-74, P-75, P-76 and P-77, in Campo de Búzios, have managed, due to operating conditions, produce above its nominal capacity and have been important for the production performance of the year 2022.
For example, at the FPSO Guanabara (Campo de Mero), which is in ramp up production, Petrobras carried out the interconnection and start-up of two new oil and natural gas production wells, and two new gas injection wells in 3Q22. As a result, the platform reached an average production of 65 bpd in the quarter.
A total pre-salt production was 1,94 million barrels of oil equivalent, in line with 2Q22, representing 73% of Petrobras' total production. According to the report, the company followed the market development work for pre-salt oils, focusing on Atapu and Sépia, which were the last oils added to Petrobras' export basket. In this quarter, four new customers were included in Asia, Europe and South America.
Production of diesel, gasoline and QAV (66%) were also highlights of the refineries
Refining also stood out, the total utilization factor (88%) and the yield of diesel, gasoline and QAV (66%) remained at high levels, in line with the 2nd quarter of 2022. In the report, the state-owned company explains that the results of this quarter happened even with the 43-day scheduled stoppages of distillation and coke at REPLAN, in Paulínia, São Paulo, the largest refinery in the country, and 33 days at the hydrotreatment units of REGAP, in Betim, Minas Gerais.
It should also be noted that eight of the company's refineries have accumulated operational availability in the first nine months of 2022 at the level of the best American refiners.
It is worth remembering that in September the first sale of Diesel R5 was concluded, composed of 95% diesel derived from petroleum and 5% renewable diesel with technology developed by the Petrobras Research Center, which consists of co-processing in hydrotreatment units.
Production was carried out at REPAR, in Paraná, where the Diesel R5 had already been produced for testing in the urban bus fleet in Curitiba.
Petrobras breaks asphalt sales record in the domestic market
And it doesn't stop there, with demand still heated, in the 3rd quarter of 2022, Petrobras sold 700,7 thousand tons of asphalt on the domestic market, highest volume in a quarter since 2014! It also achieved a quarterly record in asphalt production since 2014, with a total of 697,5 thousand tons.
The Intensity of Greenhouse Gas Emissions (IGEE) from the refineries continued to fall in 3Q22, with a result of 37,8 kgCO2e/CWT, against a realized result of 38,9 kgCO2e/CWT in 3Q21.
