After months of negotiation, oil workers guarantee employment and Petrobras undertakes not to dismiss for just cause for a period of two years
Petrobras employees affiliated to the Single Federation of Oil Workers (FUP) guarantee their employment for another two years. According to the Single Federation of Oil Workers, the document will be signed electronically on Tuesday (15). In the new agreement, Petrobras undertakes not to dismiss for just cause for a period of two years.
The collective bargaining agreement does not provide for a salary adjustment on the base date (September 1st) this year, only in September of next year, when it will be corrected according to the National Consumer Price Index (INPC). But the entity highlights the maintenance of rights for two years and the inclusion of a job guarantee clause.

According to the FUP, having an agreement “agreed for two years in the midst of the complex political and economic situation that deeply impacts the Brazilian people is an achievement, especially in light of the serious attacks suffered by workers in the public sector and state-owned companies”. With that, he adds, “oil tankers will have the stamina to face the biggest of battles, which is the defense of the Petrobras System”.

According to the president of Sindipetro do Paraná and Santa Catarina, Alexandro Guilherme Jorge, “Our next fights must be to stop the privatization of Petrobras and its exit from the south of Brazil, as well as so that we can recoup any loss felt at this delicate moment”.
