In an official statement from OSS Internacional this Tuesday, Petrobras will keep the accommodation unit operating in Brazilian waters until 2024

The new contract will start in the third quarter of 2019, OOS International said on Tuesday. OOS Tiradentes, named after a Brazilian national hero who fought for independence, has been working in Brazil for Petrobras since his delivery and his current contact will end at the end of this year. “The new award-winning contract is a result of outstanding performance, competitive pricing, strong local support and contract management,” said OOS.

The company further said: "OOS International and CIMC Raffles are pleased to further strengthen their long and successful relationship with Petrobras, a highly valued customer and partner in an important industry."

The OOS Tiradentes flotel was built by Chinese shipbuilder Yantai CIMC Raffles and delivered in February 2018.

OOS Tiradentes is a self-propelled unit equipped with electric cranes with a capacity of up to 2x 60T and accommodation for 600 people on board designed for maintenance and installation operations in oceans around the world such as Brazil and the Gulf of Mexico.

This vessel has a dynamic positioning system and offers access via the Marine Aluminum telescopic gangway connected to the facility.

Prosafe also won a bid to provide accommodation platforms for Petrobras

The auction concluded on January 23, 2019 was related to a two-lot public opportunity, with each resulting contract being three years in duration. With Prosafe ranked first in both batches, Petrobras will indicate the batch to which Safe Eurus will be assigned. Now, a conformity assessment process follows before the contract is formally awarded. Learn more here.
